In Norway there is a long tradition in cooperating within our specific fields of competence to make each one of us better. By sharing experience, we will as an industry grow in competence, increase return of investment and last but probably the most valuable, better fish health. By this type of philosophy some would argue that you make your competitor better, but it’s not an issue as the industry in general will become better and stronger. Good for each company but also good for the industries reputation.
Last week MAT-KULING had the opportunity to host and organize a full day work shop among Labrus Bergylta farmers. This species is a very tricky fish to obtain high survival rate from hatching to full size cleaner fish. The day included visit to Lerøy West’ site and in the following workshop Lerøy, Mowi and Nordic Halibut presented how they manage the farming today and what experience they had gained using different techniques and processes, including also farming of Artemia.
